The successful trial production of high chromium and high molybdenum super ferritic stainless steel b446 marks that Baosteel stainless steel has become the first manufacturer in China to produce super ferritic stainless steel. The successful application of this product in power plant condenser has opened a new chapter in the application of Baosteel's high-end ferritic stainless steel in high-end manufacturing fields such as power, petrochemical and seawater desalination.

B446 super ferritic stainless steel is one of the ferritic stainless steels with the highest content of chromium and molybdenum in the existing standards. It is the Pearl of the ferritic stainless steel family. It adopts high-purity purification and stabilization treatment, and has extremely excellent corrosion resistance. It is mainly used in harsh service environments, such as condensers in thermal power plants, heat exchangers in petrochemical industry, condensate pipes of seawater desalination equipment, condensation and heat exchange equipment with high chlorine water or seawater as cooling medium. At present, only a few stainless steel manufacturers in the world can produce this product, and the manufacturing technology is highly monopolized.

At the beginning of this year, after winning the bid for the condenser project of overseas power station, a well-known domestic company needed to purchase b446 super ferritic stainless steel cold-rolled plate. However, due to the long delivery time and high cost of purchasing this series of products from abroad, it is hoped that it can be purchased from China. On June 5, the company issued a demand to Baosteel stainless steel when it was difficult for domestic products to meet the requirements of high surface quality and core technical performance. On the same day, Baosteel stainless steel convened R & D personnel, technicians and marketing personnel of various plant departments to conduct product design, analysis of technical difficulties in the whole process and discussion of technical countermeasures according to the characteristics and use requirements of the product.

With the cooperation of all departments, Baosteel's super ferritic stainless steel b446 has been successfully smelted at one time. Both the carbon and nitrogen content and the purity of molten steel, as well as the surface quality and core technical properties of the finished products have reached the international leading level. The products have been processed and evaluated by the whole process of users, and the surface quality and internal performance have been highly recognized by users.
